We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or mobile phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes.

This Privacy Policy explains how NoteBell ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use notebell.com.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use NoteBell:

Account information: Email address, password (hashed), and mobile phone number
Billing information: Your subscription status and billing period. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on NoteBell's servers
Content you create: Notes, boards, sessions, files, and scheduled reminders
Google account data (only if you choose to connect Google — see Section 5)
Usage data: Log data, device type, and browser information

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and operate the NoteBell service
Send one-time passcodes (OTP) for account login verification
Send SMS reminder notifications you schedule within the app
Connect to Google services you explicitly authorize (Gmail, Calendar, Drive)
Respond to support requests
Improve the service

3. SMS and Mobile Phone Number

Your mobile phone number is used exclusively to:

Verify your identity via one-time passcode during login
Deliver SMS reminders you personally schedule within your account

We do not share, sell, or rent your mobile phone number to any third party. Your phone number will not be used for marketing or promotional messages.

Message frequency: Varies based on reminders you schedule plus login verification codes.

Message and data rates may apply.

To opt out of SMS messages, reply STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help. You can also update your preferences in your account settings.

4. Data Storage, Security & Retention

Your data is stored securely. Files you upload are stored in encrypted cloud storage. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access. Google OAuth tokens are stored encrypted in our database and used solely to make API requests on your behalf.

Data retention after cancellation: If you cancel your subscription, we retain your data for 30 days so you have time to export anything you need. After 30 days, your account and all associated data — including notes, boards, uploaded files, and sessions — are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Account deletion: You may request immediate deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting support@notebell.com. All data will be removed within 30 days of the request.

5. Google Services Integration

NoteBell's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

If you choose to connect your Google account, NoteBell will request access to the following Google services:

Gmail — to display your inbox and allow you to read, search, and move messages to trash directly from the canvas
Google Calendar — to display your upcoming calendar events on the canvas
Google Drive — to browse and open files from your Drive directly from the canvas

How we use Google data:

Google data is used only to provide the features described above within your NoteBell session
We do not store the content of your emails, calendar events, or Drive files on our servers — data is fetched in real time when you open a card on the canvas
We store OAuth tokens (access token and refresh token) securely to maintain your connection without requiring repeated sign-in
Google data is never shared with third parties, used for advertising, or processed for any purpose other than displaying it to you within NoteBell

Revoking Google access: You can disconnect Google at any time from Add-ons in NoteBell, or by visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions and removing NoteBell's access. This immediately stops NoteBell from accessing your Google data.

6. Payment Processing (Stripe)

NoteBell uses Stripe to process subscription payments. When you enter your payment details, they are sent directly and securely to Stripe — NoteBell never sees or stores your full card number, CVC, or expiry date.

Stripe stores your payment method and billing information according to their own Privacy Policy. We receive from Stripe only your subscription status (active, trialing, canceled) and a non-sensitive customer ID used to manage your account.

Your subscription auto-renews monthly at $5.00 USD. You may cancel at any time from within the app. If you cancel during the 7-day free trial, your card will not be charged.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only with:

Stripe: For payment processing (see Section 6)
Service providers: Such as cloud storage and SMS delivery services, solely to operate NoteBell
Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

8. Cookies

We use cookies and local storage to keep you logged in and save your preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access and export your data
Delete your account and associated data
Disconnect Google integrations at any time
Opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP

10. Children's Privacy

NoteBell is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
